What is Tribes?
Tribes is a social platform built specifically for motorcycle riders and ride organizers. Organizers create a rip page with the meeting point, time, and route, then share one link — and every rider sees the same, always-current details.
What is a rip?
A rip is a planned motorcycle event where riders gather and ride together. It is the Tribes term for a group ride, and every rip has its own page with details, participants, and chat.
Is Tribes a navigation app?
No. Navigation can complement a ride, but the purpose of Tribes is discovering, organizing, and managing motorcycle rides — not turn-by-turn directions.
Is Tribes only for motorcycle clubs?
No. Individual riders, informal riding groups, clubs, dealerships, and event organizers can all use Tribes.
Can beginners use Tribes?
Yes. Organizers can indicate the skill level or experience required for each ride, so newer riders can find rips that match their ability.
Can organizers limit who joins a ride?
Yes. Organizers can set a maximum number of participants, require approval to join, or make a rip private so it is only accessible by invitation.
How do I organize a motorcycle group ride with Tribes?
Create an account, select Create Rip, add the meeting point, time, route, and any requirements, then publish and share the link. Attendance, updates, and ride chat are handled on the rip page.
How much does Tribes cost?
Tribes is currently in private beta and free to use for riders and organizers. You can request an invite from the Tribes homepage.
